In law enforcement, "End of Watch" (EOW) has two meanings. It can refer to the end of a police officer's shift, as some departments use "watch" to denote a shift. It also signifies the date of an officer's death in the line of duty or by illness. This latter meaning is commemorated in a special "End of Watch" call or final radio call made by dispatch to honor the fallen officer.
