Yesterday on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honored the Americans who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor. We also were honored and privileged to host a mast stepping ceremony at the Adams County Veterans Memorial, a replica of the USS Colorado BB-45. Mast stepping ceremonies have long been tradition in shipbuilding, and typically involve welding coins or significant items to the mast. These items are believed to bring good luck to the vessel and serve as a time capsule aboard t
